Admins and Moderators are players - just like you - who've helped enough people, and helped those people to the best of their ability multiple times. The reason for this is we love seeing new people on this server, new players, new builds even. I know i try to help people all the time, whether it be Griefings, Warps, or a new player wants to know what this server is all about. We all take time out of our day to come on Lolnet and help, which brings me to the heart of why im making this post:
We ARE players like you. We dont come on to help you, we come on to play Minecraft, to play Lolnet. Helping all of you is just another way of making our time spent on Lolnet more enjoyable. The fact of the matter is we absolutely HATE it when we have to ban users, for continual griefing, for continual spam, for offences of abusing the Creative mode entrusted to you. We also hate it when you think we HAVE to help you. i play Warworld frequently, and do enjoy it, whether it be Raiding, defending, or just upgrading my base, and it annoys me to no end when users say in chat "Spicy, Spicy, i need help", or "I've made a modreq". i know you've made a modreq, it doesnt stop popping up on my screen. but have you ever thought: "Meh, i can live with this grief for a day", or "well, if i need to get to here so bad, i should just walk".
There are multiple things in place to stop the need to have a Moderators help, such as the signs at spawn telling you in more detail where to go if you want to build in wilderness than we can explain in chat, or land claiming. We wont give back items stolen, the only thing we will do is punish the griefer, and is this sense, i think 0zlw has been too kind, as the people who get sent to jail for griefing always seem to do it over and over again. If it were up to me, griefing = instant ban. Didn't claim? don't care. Basically the only reasons we should be needed is for making warps, dealing with player to player disputes, and worldediting. I want to be friendly all the time, but with all this other stuff I have to attend to, i cant be friendly, and play Lolnet for what i love about it: Its community.
Seriously guys, this needs to stop, and now that 0zlws gone, the servers only going to get worse, this we know. But if you could stop to think "Maybe this Mod / Admin is my age, and just wants to play as i do" it would be greatly appreciated by all Mods / Admins, this i know.
