You can change your email address yourself. Just go to your user control panel on the forums (upper left), then click on profile, then.... profile settings I believe, and there it will list the email address you provided, and you can change it.
Well, it has been christmas and new years. Maybe give it another week or two and then send him another email. I had a friend go through a similar problem and this is how we fixed it.
