Server Problem

I made a bukkit server yesterday, and when my friend joins he gets can't reach server.
I have the start.command running and pretty sure everything in server.properties is fine
Im not using hamachi and I also run a iMac

Just wondering if anyone could help

Try this one:

If you are unable to port forward then no one will be able to connect to your server.

This isn't probably useful, but why not just go to your friend's house and set up a lan world
