A player has come on to our claimed land and (also in the general area) has been attacking us with some kind of lightning bolt. Originally he/she was invisible, but we found out that it was jamman78, as the player swapped an item and then proceeded to try to "bs" their way out of assuming it was them.

Hey There Therolt,
Two things here, the user you mentioned, jamman78 has not been online for 1 month + users cannot smite you, which I believe is the lightning bolt you are talking about. If this occurred 1 month ago, or before, and you are reporting it now...its a tad late. However if you mail me in game(can be done by doing /mail send TheChosenOne_NZ [messagehere]), what items you are missing, then ill see if some refund or something else is possible.
If this is not the case, or you wish to add something else to your report to make it a bit more explanatory, then feel free to do so. Thread is open for 48 Hours.

This event happened recently. (a few minutes before making the initial post on the forum)
When I mentioned swapping items in the post above, I meant that he took one of his items off to change it or something. And as a result he was briefly visible.
A while after that he took the invisibility off and equipped normal items.
Said player is currently online:

We managed to get a moderator of sorts involved (I think) "[Aux]"
However, we were unable to provide proof that the lightning was caused by the player, since it apparently is disabled in our claimed town area.
Going back a few steps:
After I figured out who the player was, I believe I may have asked him to stop/leave. (something along those lines)
At which stage s/he denied being in our base - as the player was being invisible.
The player stated something along the lines of "But I'm at my own base"
My friend: Scitzo asked "whats your base then? I'd like to see it"
Shortly after was a reply *something something"your mum" typical statement*
and then also said "JoJo", which wasn't even an existing town.
After the "[Aux]" listened to my side of the story, he asked the said player what his side was s/he claimed that we "said we were newbz and asked for some items" which we never did nor even wanted in the first place.
He dropped around 64 gold blocks, 17 diamonds, 64 advanced solar panels, a portal gun and some other items.
According to Scitzo, when attempting to pass the items back, Jamman78 didn't pick them up for some reason. So some of the items may have de-spawned.
He claimed that we were also "griefing our own base" (I never claimed that there was any griefing damage done to our area in the first place), but what we were doing was placing cobblestone blocks around him so that he'd stop following us around and hopefully leave.
During the encounter with the player and "[Aux]", he was warned several times about cursing.

After the "[Aux]" asked the player about his side of the story, there was no real conclusion and the said player asked the "[Aux]" if he;d like some new armour.

If this was on the unleashed server, they were most likely using a thaumcraft wand of lightning.
