New Server Woes

Hi guy, sorry to gripe already about the new server etc but i keep getting bumped and then on re-logging i am often moved to the hub. If this continues, getting moved to the hub, then it has some really annoying implications for me on this server. I mine. Basically that's what I'm into and every time I am put back to the hub I must tp to my home which means I lose my back... which means that every time I will lose my mine. Which also means after a lot of work to find undiscovered mines now I will have to start looking for a new mine every time I get bumped. And since I have gotten bumped no less than 6 times in the short time I've been on the new look server (1 hour or less) then it doesn't bode well - at least for my enjoyment on this server. Sure, it's fine for people who only come on to play survival games etc but if it keeps happening then it totally rules me out. Which is a shame.

What are the chances these are teething problems or will it continue? The server is suddenly behaving like every other games server I've been on - you know, getting bumped, timeouts, read exceptions etc...whatever all that means. Anyway, time will tell...hope i don't have to sell up and move on tho. I like Lolnet alot.

I'm not particularly sure what you mean by being bumped, or these woes that you are experiencing, but, the new server should actually be better for your than the old one, even if you aren't interested in survival games or skyblock.

1. You should come out at exactly where you were in survival any time something happens.
2. Compared to a fortnight ago, the server specs have massively increased, meaning less restarts required, and meaning there is less downtime at night (Should be no downtime). This should lead to a better experience for you.
3. There are less people playing in the survival world as they have now spread out onto other servers, also reducing the usage of the server and meaning there should be a more reliable experience for you.

If possible, it'd be best to have a discussion ingame to exactly understand the issues your having, as I'm not quite sure why your being kicked more often, especially as we would expect improvements in the way things work.

Either reply here or flick me a PM/Email, when you get kicked (bumped) does it give you an error message?
Sounds more like an ISP issue rather than our end but I'm more than happy to take a look into it as it is a new setup, although as mentioned above nothing survival server wise has changed and certainly your /home shouldn't be getting wiped (but you can't use /home from the lobby server).

Thanks for your replies. I have been on twice this afternoon and same story. The error message is read timeout exception null. I log in and within two minutes I get this message. Just to clarify, my internet appears fine. There wasn't an issue of slowness before the new server reboot yesterday(i played fine saturday morning) and it isn't an issue on other mc servers this afternoon - I went on a couple to check and played for half an hour on each to see that all was playing normally.
So I came straight back on lolnet and got the same error messages. I understand by your replies this appears to be just a "me-thing" but like i said, yesterday on old lolnet was perfect and today on other servers service is still normal.
Also Dezil, in response to your query about how I lose my mine. Any tp that isn't between home/mine eliminates my return to that mine. A few times after I have got the error msg bump, I come back on to find I'm not at home but at the hub - with msg saying 'you have been moved...' - so I have to tp home and lose my ability to /back to the mine. Since mining is what i on here continually it kinda kills it for me. I'll be forever losing mines.
But all that is irrelevant if I can't play at all and that appears to be the case. Ummm, help???
Thanks

We may need you to get your error log after you are kicked/crash

As for the its only you thing I have been connected to the server for over 24 hours since it went up yesterday and I may still be connected right now not at my PC to check :)

Anyway provided you can give us the right info we will take a look

Logs can be found in your minecraft folder and it would be preferred if you pastebin them in

Cheers Dez

Thanks Dez, can you be more specific where to find these. I opened applications, then minecraft folder and nowhere in there I could see logs. Beyond that I am lost...cheers

Ok looking the error up it seems to be something to do with packets timing out.
While this can be our end (I'll tweak a couple of settings and see if it makes any difference) seeing as no one else seems to have had this issue are you by any chance connected to your router via WiFi?
WiFi tends to be pretty unstable and even slight interference (like a microwave being turned on) could drop you off.

So I'm pretty sure having played again on other servers today that all is fine with my internet. This has only occurred as a result of the new server changeover. How and why I don't know. But it's certainly nothing my end. All other internets work fine. All I know is that all was sweet b4 and all is now read timeout bloody exception null now.
So until you advise me I'm out of action.
Is it possible I have been blocked by lolnet for some reason?

Nope, you wouldn't be able to connect if you were blocked.
I'll check some other settings and message you again to try later.

Thanks Cptwin...the connection is not an issue, not a wi-fi or signal strength issue, as I can play uninterrupted on any other site but every time within 1 minute of coming onto lolnet i get bumped. Just re-tried lolnet now and same result, then straight onto another server and played fine. Plus it's about midnight and there's no possible interference factors like microwaves operating in the house now. cheers

Knowski can you do a ping and traceroute from your Mac terminal to lolnet.co.nz and google.co.nz and paste your output.
Just interested to know whats going on as I'm struggling to find anything that would help
