Mods?

Morning, Guys. (This was posted during night time)

I was looking through 123zane123's post of the best way of keeping your items organized, then I saw james post that he uses an mod called inventory tweak.

I used to play minecraft with mods, but not really with the new updates.

I just wanted to know what kind of mods are available or allowed in Lolnet that would help things such as using your inventory.

If you guys know what mods are available to be used, can you's please tell me

In general any mod that gives you an advantage in gameplay in not allowed.

I can't give you a list of mods that are allowed or not allowed.

You can read section 1.6 in the rules link here that might give some you some ideas.

Personally we have to go case by case on what mods are allowed in terms of inventory tweak. at the time I used it all it did would sort our inventory based on ID.

The best thing I can suggest is ask a moderator/admin; either by forum or ingame "is (insert Mod name) allowed"

if you think it gives an unfair advantage then don't bother asking.

Examples of mods that are not allowed (but not limited to):
* mods that provide ways of finding items, mobs, players, etc
* mods that change your player moment (speed, location, etc)
* force op mods
I think you can think of more.

There are some minimap mods that I would approve for example an unmodified of rei minimap. however things do change.

The purpose of the rules is to provide a fair gameplay for everyone, so everyone feels safe and happy while playing minecraft on lolnet.

Maybe we do need to make a list of all mods that we allow and anything else we say no. At this time its no unless we allow it

So, when you say "Mods that give a way to find items, mobs and players", are minimaps not allowed? They give you the option to show mobs.

There are many mod packs that offer minimaps so they aren't banned on those servers. As for other servers i don't think it would be adviseable especially on servers like war world.

I think what this has shown is the need for an approved list of Mods. I am at this moment making and testing a mod pack for 1.7.10 that gives you a like of mods that allow you to install. however all theses mods must be approved. I can't give a ETA at the moment but I can tell you it will be within the new LolnetLauncher.

I'm more than happy to get some ideas on what mods you would like and what you think are the most common mods other people would like to have. Please make sure they are only client based mods.

HUD mods are pretty common in my eyes and are useful.
What I mean by HUD mods are things like Minimaps, those mods that show Mobs' and players' health, and Inventory modders.

Another thing I wanted to add was that for shazzy's post, I think you can see durability of items now (Maybe it's just me).
