Hi everyone! Please do not update to Minecraft 1.5 (unless you know what you are doing of course) as servers that run plugins cannot update until a stable version of craftbukkit is available!

We will let you know as soon as we update the server!

We will also look at a possible "fix" for those that have accidentally updated their Minecraft already.

Thanks for pointing this out. If I may offer a suggestion...it would've been awesome if the notice to not run the update had preceded the launch date and run as a lolnet broadcast not a forum note. Users are more likely to see this stuff on the server than on the forum especially, if like me, they only visit the forum for help after the fact rather than before.
I know i am pretty noobish but no doubt not alone in that.

So my plea is for the possible fix you mentioned for those that downloaded the update in error.
Does one exist my captain? If not how long does one wait for the server to update? Please please please help. I miss my lolnet.

for those that have updated to 1.5 accidently (like myself) you can downgrade your minecraft to an older version. simply go to minecraft.net download an older version of the minecraft.jar file (1.4.7). Then got to the start tab type in %appdata% and hit enter, this will bring up a folder called "roaming" look for a file named .minecraft and open it. inside will be a file labeled "bin" open that and you will see a minecraft.jar file (named simply "minecraft") change the name of this file to something you will remember (like minecraft1.5) and then copy the newly downloaded minecraft.jar file into this folder.

Hi everyone, just an update on 1.5

I will be attempting to update to 1.5 at 10am today (20/03), the server will be down and whitelisted until I have determined that all the plugins work correctly and the server is good to go :D

Your data and inventory is all protected with backups and there will be no map resets, although I may put it to a vote to reset the nether (because of the new nether quartz).

This update will also see us go to a new back-end system that will enable us to update Minecraft versions quicker than what craftbukkit currently does.

oh no, dont reset the nether !!!
perhaps make a second nether for people to explore instead?
i for one and at least a few others have MASSIVE investments in the nether

Server is coming back up! Server has been updated to 1.5, if you find any glitches, bugs or hacks please let us know on the forums.

You can now update to 1.5!

hey well it says i caint be connected because i am not on the whitelist what do i do? i really want to play.

No reloding the nether. Just walk approx 1000 blocks in any direction and you will have a new nether chunk. Took me 3 minutes to find some nether quartz ( in survival mode on lolnet ) So to those wanting a reset, well.. yeah nah. Its called walking, you should try it sometime.
