Interest in starting a GTA SA server?

I think it would be a great idea to start a SAMP server. They are rather easy to run, and come with a great amount of plugins/tools.

This would bring interest from new players to Lolnet.

Just an idea.

I've got GTA SA, with many CLEO mods in it, but its the cracked version. I'm not sure if the cracked version can start a server, but if it can, I'm really interested in participating.

That's exactly what you need to play it...
The Steam version doesn't work.
There are plugins for the CLEO mods.
And S0beit is an amazing mod.
Most servers allow it. You can't really cheat that much.

We could always give it a go, and if it doesn't work out, you could scrap it...
So, CptWin. Your thought on the matter?

And I'm guessing you'd have a good connection.

It depends on how many slots you want, I guess.

I can really see this bring new players to Lolnet.
Surprisingly, San Andreas is still a widely played game.
I used to play SAMP all the time, and as long as you can put things into the map like stunt areas and races/shoot outs, you should attract a ton of new players.

If you're interested at all and/or plan to go ahead with this, I can give you a download link to the game (it's about 800mb if you get the one without in-game radio), which you could post on the forums for users to download in your "downloads" section.

As for the OS, Windows.
It's worked fine for me in all the time I've played it on XP and 7, but I haven't tried it on 8...
