I've died around 10 times on the HardCore server and I haven't been banned once.

can you screenshot the output of /rank?
Edit 1: according to the database you have been on the HardCore server for a total of 11 min and you have 49 min remaining (this will be set to zero on PVP). This might be a bug.....
Edit 2: ok I tested it and it seems to be working fine.
The time is measured in only when you are logged in
