I use the John smith legacy resource pack and really like it. Enough detail to add to the visuals, but not so much the it looks ridiculous.

Optifine (Speeds Up FPS)
MCcapes (Gives you a Free Cape But only the people who hav ethe mod can see it)

I agree, Optifine is my fav mod. Because my survival builds are usually gigantic I need optifine for the ability of extreme rendering. My fav resource pack is soulsand and vodpack
