Admins, Moderators etc shouldn't have /socialspy..

This is a complaint. I Sheepy246, do not think that it is fair that Admins, Moderators etc can see other peoples /msg or faction chat. People may be sharing very personal secrets or might be planning a attack on someones faction and the staff will know instantly. Other users might be sharing their opinions of other admins or moderators, such as "I don't like 0zlw he is really annoying" I like you 0zlw that was just an example =). They might be sharing phone numbers but they only want that person to know but the staff will know as well. This makes some "secrets" not very secret. Those are some reasons why I think that there should be no /socialspy on the Lolnet server.

Hey sheepy not to be negative or anything but Moderators/Admins Have to have socialspy just in case someone is planning to grief or if someone is Advertiseing a server by /msg everyone on the server and a cuople of other things.

i know it can be not right knowing other people are looking at your personal stuff but why not tell the person at school/work or skype or anything that cant be seen by others.

As Zombie_Apocalips said there are a number of reasons why we use SocialSpy on this server.

1. It allows us to monitor verbal abuse and harassment of other users, such as when users use private message to try and fly under the radar, and abuse others
2. If other people are using privatemessaging to spam someone, or alternatively advertise we need to be able to respond quickly.
3. It allows us to be aware of users planning to grief and such like, or other suspicious and worrying activities.

In response to your claims and issues, I don't see where you get the belief that Moderators have faction chat spy. Your faction chat can only be seen by Admins, none of which who actively participate in WarWorld.

Further, our staff do not abuse the information they see, if you tell someone your phone number or your address we aren't going to go and use it. We do respect the privacy of your data. Further, if you are giving this information out, you shouldn't be using private chat, this information should only be released if you know them in real life.

There are plenty of much, more tangible, realizable benefits, by allowing staff to monitor the chat of other users. It ensures and makes Lolnet a non abusive environment.

As 0zlw said above, only admins have access to both faction chat and social spy.
We keep all data confidential and anything said through these systems is kept private.
